Summer is almost here, summer is fun, beach and holidays, but also summer means sun. The sun has many benefits and in the other side has many disadvantages. How to protect your skin from the disadvantages of the sun? A Good question that needs an answer. Today I brought you 5 tips to protect your skin during summer, they may be other things that I didn't mention below, but these are the most important ones.
1- Drink Water
Drink water regularly throughout the day, preferably between meals. Water will both hydrate your skin and flush out toxins that can mar your complexion.
2- Use Sunscreen
Wear sunscreen to avoid getting sunburned. Apply plenty of sunscreen to all exposed skin. Don't forget tops of feet and back of the neck.
3- Wear a Sun Hat and Sunglasses
You can can select a stylish wide-brimmed hat. A hat protects the top of your head, where you can’t apply sunscreen, and also offers added protection for your face and neck, often at the most at risk for skin damage.
Make sure to wear glasses that have 99 or 100% UVA and UVB protection and wrap completely around your eyes, to ensure full protection.
4- Avoid Lot Of Makeup And Perfumes
Give your skin a break, avoid wearing makeup all the times. Your skin needs to breathe, specially in summer. You can use moisturizing creams instead. Avoid spraying perfume on your skin in the sun. The psoralen in perfume can permanently stain your skin when they react with the sun. During the summertime, it is recommended that you spritz your clothes with your fragrance rather than your skin.
5- Eat Healthy Food
A healthy skin comes from eating well and summer is the ideal time to make dietary changes for the better.
As I mentioned above there may be many other things you can do in order to protect your skin in the summer, like staying out of the sun between the hours of 10am and 3pm, wearing protective clothes and using moisturizing creams and sunscreen.
Your skin is your body's largest organ, protect it as much as you can.
